Securing Sandy Creek

A HUGE thanks goes out to Chris Hadden his son Rielly Hadden and his daughter Tasmin for their generous help securing Sandy Creek.

When we took over the site the front gates were securely padlocked, but the fence to the side had been cut and a vehicle track had been established as an unauthorised access point to the rest of the site. Even though the fence wires were reattached and a new CrossTrek lock placed on the main gates, unauthorised access was still being made and some of the sites resources began to dissappear - such as 2 rain water poly tanks. The fence wires had been cut again and the chain on the main gates had also been cut to facilitate the unauthorised removal of the water tanks.

In order to stop the unauthorised access to the site Chris and his Family came and helped to make some serious repairs to the fences at the front gates. Fence wires were tensioned, star pickets added across the vehicle tracks and a steel cable strung through the fence. A steel cable and hardened padlock replaced the chain on the main gates and padlocks were placed on the doors of buildings on the site.

This has been a huge improvement to the security of the site and soon digital security cameras will be added to further secure the Sandy Creek Site.
