Our Site Projects. Become a Partner....

For too many years the Sandy Creek site has been left neglected and has fallen into disrepair.  Become a Partner in the Sandy Creek Project and help us to resestabish the true value and purpose of the site by taking on one of the important Site Projects.  Your support for a Project can be the power of your hands, the power of your finance or the power of resources.   We value your support and will acknowledge the great work of your organisation as a Partner in the Sandy Creek Project.

Project 1. Entrance Sign

We are looking for a Community Group who are willing to partner with the Sandy Creek Project by creating a new sign for the entrace to the site.  Your Group will have a pivitol role in adding value to the Sandy Creek Project as well as an opportunity to add your Organisations logo and name to the sign.

We are looking for a sign that reflects the natural environment of the site as well as imparts an expectaion of the adventure and discovery that will be experienced upon entry.   By investing into the Sandy Creek Project your Organisation will be investing into the future of our local young people and all who expereince the adventure of the Sandy Creek Project.

Project 2. Recognition Garden

This garden that's meant to give honour and recognition to the Indigenous people of our land is in need of some care and respect.  The garden is to be a focal point of the main Sandy Creek site and it needs to reflect the value of the Culture of the traditional Indigenous custodians. Your support for this project will add tremendous value to the discovery experience, which is at the heart of the Sandy Creek Project.

There is a plaque on the large rock of the Indigenous Recognition Garden that states "These rocks from the Burnett River show Aboriginal axe grinding grooves, engravings and markings made by the GURANG-GURANG people".

Project 3. Water Tanks

Since taking on the Sandy Creek Project we have had the unfortunate experience of having 2 rain water poly tanks disappear offsite.  One tank was located at the Camp Kitchen to collect the rainwater from the roof of the structure and the other one was near the old Site Office beside the main site tank.

The tank stand at the Camp Kitchen sits empty and we need your help to replace the missing tank.  Then we can provide usable water for the needs of all those enjoying the beauty and adventure of their Sandy Creek experience.
