THIS IS YOUTHTREK

NORMANTON EXPEDITION

The Normanton Expeditions are great opportunities for cross cultural experiences that are deeply impacting.  Working in close community with the Expedition Team and the local community creates many valuable experiences that are both challenging and adventurous.  Connect with traditional culture through the Youth and Indigenous Elders of Normanton and absorb the amazing beauty of the vast, remote Australian Outback.

YOUTHTREK@RCC

YouthTrek at Riverside Christian College has been running since 2011 and involves students from Years 7, 8 and 9.  Each week they participate in adventurous activities designed to develop their inter-personal skills (Social & Group Skills) and their intra-personal skills (Emotional & Individual skills).  The challenging nature of the program builds resilience, persistence and determination.

YOUTHTREK@NTN

YouthTrek at Normanton.  The YouthTrek adventure began in Normanton during 2010 then in 2011 the Fraser Coast became it's home.  Every year since then YouthTrek@Normanton has been an annual 3 day adventure challenge camp run by members of YouthTrek@Riverside  Plans are underway to create a weekly YouthTrek@Normanton program.

YOUTHTREK@DMG

YouthTrek at Doomadgee.  Working in partnership with World Hope Network, a valuable connection was made with the community of Doomadgee during the 2016 Normanton Expedition.  Utilising a base of operations in Normanton the aim is to create an annual YouthTrek event in Doomadgee.

YOUTHTREK@SANDYCREEK

The Sandy Creek Centre is located close to Maryborough and provides a great place for YouthTrek to experience nature.  YouthTrek Events at Sandy Creek will focus on bush adventure, bush skills, camping and environmental education.  A great place to discover more about the environment and ourselves.

YOUTHTREK@FIJI

The dream is to form partnerships with the villages of Ovalou and YouthTrek to create some unique opportunities for social development, eco tourism, youth education/training, cross cultural experiences and sustainable economic enterprise.  At the moment connections with charitable organisations are being developed that will allow the dream to become a reality.

YOUTHTREK@ADVENTURE

The spirit of adventure is at the core of YouthTrek, so every opportunity is taken to provide young people with adventurous experiences outside of the regular YouthTrek program.  Hikes, indoor rock climbing, archery, kayaking and canoeing adventures are presented to young people throughout the year.

YOUTHTREK BEYOND

YouthTrek has been of great benefit to many young people since it was created in 2010.   The program has developed leadership capacity within high school students as well as the benefits of personal development.  If you're interested in establishing a YouthTrek program within your local community then lets get started now!
