Back To Basics
Bush Retreat
Leave no Trace
SITE FACILITIES
Please "Tread Lightly" and minimise your environmental footprint while visiting the Sandy Creek Centre by following the "Leave No Trace" Principles.

The Sandy Creek Centre is a back to basics site so your group needs to be prepared to be self sufficient with regards to drinking water, personal hygiene (including toilet paper)and the removal of all rubbish. The Sandy Creek Centre is in a mobile network blackspot for Telstra, Optus and Vodaphone but some reception can be found nearby. Check the Mobile Coverage Maps to determine your communication needs. There is no source of power on site other than the sun, so if you need to "plug in" while visiting, then come prepared with alternative power supplies that will last the length of your stay.
PLENTY OF SPACE
Experience Nature by setting up your tents within the natural bush setting of the Sandy Creek Centre Camp Grounds. Sandy Creek provides plenty of space for large groups to camp as well as solo adventurers seeking some solitude and retreat from the busy world we live in. All camping sites have rock ring campfire pits to provide some light and warmth during the evenings as well as plate and grill cooking fire places to create your campfire cuisine. Feel free to bring your own fuel stoves if you prefer, and there is plenty of dead wood on site to fuel your evening fire.
CAMP KITCHEN
The rustic feel of the camp kitchen provides the perfect space to enjoy communal meals for staff or small groups. Make use of the expansive brick fire pit which is set up with a BBQ plate and timber beam to hang billy's and camp ovens from. A simple kitchen bench with sink and timber table with bench seats completes the Sandy Creek Camp Kitchen. Enjoy the evenings watching the sun set on the kitchen verandah then as the stars come out relax in front of the roaring fire place.
TOILETS AND SHOWERS
All visitors to the site have access to the Centres Toilet block. Whether you're visiting for a day or staying for a week having a simple yet functional toilet block available is always appreciated. Tank water feeds the septic toilet system, so being water wise is a core value of the Sandy Creek Centre. Shower cubicles are situated in the toilet block and are equipped to support hanging camp showers, either canvas or solar heated. Shower water can be accessed from the toilet block water tank or from the site billabong. Always allow time in your daily routine to get a fire going to heat up your water for showers.
